I awaited my end. My fellow rebels are being led out one by one to meet the block. There will be no escape or rescue; we were the last. The clanking of cell doors gets closer as my friends meet their fate. I will be last. So much to remember; some happy times, some sad. My deepest regret is that we failed. Soon I will step out into the light and step away from all disappointment, all regret. All peace.
